Can I Ignore a Gas Stove Flame That Turns Yellow?
Verdict:
PROBABLY NOT
Probably not if the flame stays yellow. A brief orange flicker in an otherwise blue flame can be harmless, but a steady long yellow flame or soot can mean the burner is not burning correctly. Turn the burner off, let it cool, clean and reseat it as your manual directs, and stop using it if the yellow flame returns.
