Do not wait if your dog is weak, repeatedly vomiting, passing black or bloody stool, becoming dehydrated, may have swallowed something dangerous, or is a puppy or not fully vaccinated.
- Can I Ignore My Dog Throwing Up?Verdict: YES, BUTSometimes. One isolated episode in an otherwise healthy dog that is acting normal and keeping water down can often be watched at home. Repeated vomiting, blood, a painful or swollen belly, marked weakness, collapse, trouble breathing, or possible toxin or foreign-object exposure should not be ignored.

- Can I Ignore My Dog Eating Grass?Verdict: YESUsually, yes. Occasional grass eating in a dog that is otherwise acting normal is common and does not automatically mean the dog is sick. Stop treating it as harmless if the behavior suddenly changes, your dog keeps vomiting, or the grass may contain lawn chemicals or toxic plants.
- Can I Ignore My Dog's Reverse Sneezing?Verdict: YESUsually, yes. A brief reverse-sneezing episode that stops on its own and leaves your dog completely normal before and after is usually harmless. Get veterinary help if episodes become frequent or severe, come with other respiratory signs, or look like true breathing difficulty.
