Can I Ignore a Swollen Laptop Battery?
Verdict:
DON'T IGNORE
No. Visible battery swelling is abnormal, and major laptop manufacturers recommend stopping use and disconnecting AC power until the battery is replaced. Do not press a raised trackpad or case back into place, puncture the battery, or force a swollen battery out of the laptop.

Can I Ignore a Hot Laptop Charger?
Verdict:
YES, BUT
Laptop power adapters can become quite warm during normal charging, especially under heavier load. Keep the adapter uncovered on a hard, well-ventilated surface. Stop using it if the heat becomes abnormal for that charger or comes with damage, discoloration, burning odor, unreliable charging, repeated shutdowns or sparking away from the wall-plug blades.
